“Dad, there’s some man in the bushes waiting for mom to take a ride” – how my son was able to make me feel guilty

– Are you out of your mind? Where are you going? Aren’t you afraid of anything? Not of hell, not of God? We have to divorce you!

With these words my husband ran into the room with eyes as red as cancer’s. I could not understand what was wrong with him. After all, he is quite calm and adequate man. Why was he so wound up? What had gotten into him?

Everyone present just sat there and clapped their eyelashes – we were just discussing the upcoming event. Well, what could I do? Go where? Nearby there is only a landing, a lake, the children of the camp. It’s seven kilometers to the nearest village and no transportation from us.

– Don’t even think about it! All right, we’ll talk later when we’re alone! – the husband finished his tirade in anger, then slammed the door and ran out.

Five minutes later, everything cleared up. And here’s what happened…

My son is 7 years old and he and his friends were walking near the lake. It was still cold to swim. The older kids climbed into the water, and the younger ones were only dancing near the fire. And when it was another such evening, one of the local fishermen came by the light of the fire. He tied his boat to the shore and decided to stand with us to get warm. The kids crowded around, asking about his catch and if he could take them for a ride.

The fisherman turned out to be friendly and started pulling fish out of his bag, then said he would definitely give them a tour, but only if the caretakers allowed.

He didn’t remember any of the people there, including their names. We too had forgotten about him. Only a couple of days later he was moored again near the shore. But no fish. He recognized my son, who called me Mom. The fisherman then said to him:

– Hey, kid, go call your mother and tell her that I’m going to take everyone who wanted to go on my boat.

And the son didn’t go to me to tell me what he said, but to his father and told him everything.

– Father! There’s a strange man waiting in the bushes for my mother, he wants to take her for a ride on his boat.

Can you imagine what you might have thought? My son didn’t want anything bad to happen, but he played it off in such a way that I became guilty, even though I hadn’t done anything. And my husband got angry and became furious. We were almost divorced! I had to prove my innocence for a few days.
