According to the Hendersonville Lightning, Luke was playing in his front yard when he saw a neighbor’s house on fire. He quickly ran over to the burning building and started banging on the door, trying to alert the residents inside.
While Ibrahim has had a few offers from people wanting to adopt him, he’s adamant about staying with his family. Katerina says that Ibrahim regularly reminds her of how much he loves his mom and siblings.
“I love my mother so much, I don’t want to leave her or go away with someone else,” the young boy said in an interview translated by The Dodo. “Even if they gave me many toys and clothes, I wouldn’t be happy without them…. My dream is for my family to live harmoniously together until Allah takes one of us. Then we will all meet up again in Jannah [paradise]. That is what I hope for most at the end of this life — reunion with those dear to me who have passed on before me. Nothing would make me happier than that!
