A friend of mine found herself in a strange situation. Her mother-in-law was in trouble, she was very sick. This story has a happy ending thanks to my friend, she in contrast to her husband did not turn away from the sick woman.
At the time, however, Tatiana’s husband Andrew knew nothing about the fact that his mother was feeling ill. Andrew only found out about his mother’s illness when my mother was discharged from a good clinic, where my friend had arranged for her. She was always visiting her mother-in-law, buying all the medicines and carrying food. When Tatiana brought her mother-in-law home, she told her husband:
– Your mother is healthy now, I bought everything she needs. But she still needs at least minimal supervision. So she will live with us for a while. You don’t mind, do you?
More logical in this situation would have looked if Andrew asked such a question to his wife, not vice versa. After all, it is his own mother.
But instead of gratitude and praise for his wife taking care of his mother, Andrew gave his own mother a completely incomprehensible and inappropriate scene:
– Well mother! I just moved to the city from your bruise, started to arrange my own life, and you are here as here! And you want to live in the same house as me! And now I have to take care of you all my life? You don’t want to go back to your village after the city!
The elderly mother was very worried about her son’s words, but most of all Tatiana was surprised. Here Andrei’s true nature was revealed to her, she first saw his true face. Not as she knew the man when she agreed to marry him.
Tatiana’s mother-in-law hurriedly began packing her things with the last of her strength to return home as quickly as possible. Her son resentfully rattled the door and left.
Andrew returned late at night and found in his and his wife’s apartment packed suitcases, documents and train tickets. With complete incomprehension, he asked Tatiana what was going on:
– Is it my mother who hasn’t left yet? Maybe you’re going somewhere?
– Oh no, dear. It’s your things and your ticket. I think we should live separately. I dreamed of children, but today I realized that I do not want my children to have such a father, – said Tatiana confidently, – And you think about what you did. Live a little bit in the “battered” village and mother’s hut, and she will build with me in the meantime. If something clears up for you, then come back,” Tatiana announced her decision.
And Andrew stood like a dumbfounded, could not understand what was going on.
