I asked for forgiveness, but my mother was adamant and quickly dumped my things in a backpack and then gave me some money and kicked me out of the house. I used to have an ordinary family, like every child, consisting of my mother, father and daughter, my father-in-law, Varya. My parents used to live very well, but then it happened that my mother stopped taking care of herself completely, and my father found someone else.
My father’s sweetheart was much younger than him, she got my father pregnant, and my mother could not forgive my father for this betrayal, after which he left for his sweetheart. Each of my parents began to arrange their personal lives, but in that life, there was no place for me.
At that time, when I was finishing tenth grade, my mother brought home a man much younger than herself, and I protested by getting involved with bad company: I started drinking, I cut my hair very short and dyed it pink. My mother paid no attention to all my antics, as she had no interest in me at all, so I continued to be a freak. After finishing eleventh grade, during another quarrel my mother threw me out on the street.
She told me at the time: “Listen to me carefully: you have become a grown-up girl, and I, just like your father, dream of personal happiness, so you pack your things and move in with your daddy!”
I had no choice but to beg her forgiveness, but she ignored my pleas and continued to dump my things into my backpack, and then she kicked me out into the street. When I arrived at my father’s, he also pointed me to the threshold with the words, “You understand, this apartment is my spouse’s and she will not want you to live with us. You have to go back to your mother and make peace with her,” after these words he slammed the door in my face.
I didn’t know what to do, so I bought a ticket and left. A lot has passed since that day. I came to a small northern town, then I entered a technical school there, and after graduation I started working there as a cook.
After a while I met a guy, fell in love and married him, and later my husband and I bought our own place. My husband always asked me to forgive my parents, because he had been brought up in an orphanage himself and had never known a mother’s love and understood very well what an orphan was.
But I kept putting off reconciling with my parents. This went on until he said to me: “You are a happy man, because you have both mother and father, but because of your pride, you are choosing the way of an orphan. But you can not do that, because we are all human beings and no one is immune from mistakes, and so you have to go to your parents and measure with them.
My husband and I went to my hometown. When we rang the doorbell of the apartment where I used to live, the doors were opened by my severely aged parents. When my mother saw me, she knelt down in front of me and started begging my forgiveness and kissing my feet. At that moment I realized that I had forgiven my parents long ago, but I just didn’t want to admit it to myself.
My husband and I went into my parents’ house, and I introduced him to my father and mother, and then I told them that they were expecting a grandchild. My parents admitted to me that they made up after they started looking for me together. My disappearance brought them back together and they were a family again.
My father’s second spouse, seeing that he was pining for his first spouse, let him go, and after a while married the man she was cheating on my father with. My father thought the girl was carrying his child and that’s why he left our family, but it turned out that the lady herself didn’t know who she was carrying her child from.
After the divorce, the lady took a paternity test and found out that my father had nothing to do with her child. Now my parents are perfectly happy and so am I. Everything happened exactly as I had dreamed when I was a teenager: my father and mother started living under the same roof again.
