Yesterday after work I decided to take the bus, as I was quite tired. At first there were two empty seats. I took one, and a 17-year-old boy sat down in front. But at the next stop the salon began to fill up.
And then a grandmother came in with her grandson. The boy looked about 12 or 13 years old. They stood next to the boy who was getting on the bus with me. He got up to give the old lady a seat. She thanked me, but she didn’t sit down – she sat her grandson down and started to glare at me angrily.
I was not going to get up. However, the old lady went to action:
– Man, you do not want to give way to an elderly woman?
– So you yourself have sat down your grandson, you should sit down, – I answered.
– He is a child. He’s tired after class.
I just shrugged my shoulders in response and added:
– I’m not from the disco either, tired at work.
Granny snorted something and stared out the window. At the next stop a man, about my age, got on the bus. Slightly “tipsy”. He stood next to the boy that the old lady had seated, looked at her and said:
– Hey, kid, why don’t you give up your seat to the elderly?
He didn’t know it was her grandson.
– It’s her grandson, she sat him down herself,” whispered the woman sitting next to him.
The man hissed with laughter, as did the other passengers.
