Any trip to the clinic with a child is a real pain. Especially when the child is sick, sniffling and coughing. You want to get a doctor’s recommendation, a prescription, and go home as soon as possible before the baby’s temperature rises. I thought about this while sitting in line.
I came alone, purely to get a certificate for school, because the child has recovered, I pre-registered for the time, but still there were a lot of children with colds and I wanted to help them somehow, so I let some of them pass in front of me without an appointment. In particular, a woman with three daughters. The girls were very similar to each other, always sniffing their noses and asking their mother when they were going home. The woman was torn between them, moreover, she came without an appointment, waiting for some opportunity to skip to the office, and I offered her to come in front of me.
The other people in line were not happy. The mothers just clucked their tongues, but there were two fathers and sons sitting in line. As far as I realized they were friends, because they were surprisingly quick to join in and started bugging me, asking why I skipped the queue when everyone was in such a hurry.
– That’s what electronic registration was invented for, young lady! If you let everyone through like that, then the appointment will be three hours late!
Women started following the men, complaining about me and proving that I had already missed my appointment time and had to get to the back of the line…
I understand that everyone is in a hurry, and the clinic is not a place where you want to sit for a long time, but you should have some conscience and put yourself in the place of others. What if one day one of them has to run to the doctor for a prescription, and no one will miss and tell to make an appointment? Besides, it’s up to everyone to let someone in front of them or not. Once again, I made sure that if I didn’t let that mom in front of me, no one would have let her in.
