In the flood, a jaguar fell into the water and started to sink. Ordinary servicemen were alerted of this and rushed to save it by taking it out of the water.

After being transported to a safe location, the animal was tranquilized and released back into its natural habitat.

There is little likelihood that the animal could fend for itself in its current state, and it would likely be killed or captured by another predator if left to roam free. By taking the rescued animal with them, they are providing it a chance at survival that it otherwise would not have had.
