Passersby sometimes bring food for the cat, but she always returns to Prayitno’s grave. The man who originally buried his mother at the sacred site has even put up a small makeshift shelter for her.
When the old lady dies, the cat disappears from the cemetery. Some say she walked back to her previous house and continued living with the children; others believe she died alongside her beloved mistress.

This is a story about my cat that I adopted from the pound last year. Her name is Snuggles and she has been the most loving and devoted pet I have ever had. She follows me around everywhere I go in the house, always wanting to be near me. She cuddles up with me every night when I go to bed and greets me at the door whenever I come home. The other day, she started limping really badly and wouldn’t put any weight on her left hind leg.
After taking her to the vet, we found out that she had a tumor in her paw which was causing all of her pain. We made the tough decision to have her euthanized because there was no way of curing it and she was in so much pain. It broke my heart having to say goodbye to such a loyal friend, but knowing that she wasn’t going through anymore pain made it a little bit easier for me emotionally (although not financially). If you are considering getting a cat please think about adopting one from your local animal shelter or rescue group – they will love you forever for giving them a second chance at life!
