Carol observed that the cat liked to sun himself on her porch in the mornings. One day, she placed a small bowl of milk near him and gradually moved it closer to the door. Eventually, Tiger was drinking from the bowl inside Carol’s house.
On October 31, 2014 around 8 PM while Trick-or-Treating with my family in downtown Cincinnati I saw a black cat dart across the street. The Tabby next to us said “that’s our house cat”. We asked where and they pointed to an apartment complex on the other side of the busy 4 lane road we were on. My wife & kids wanted to investigate but there was no way to cross safely with all of the cars so we went home (2 blocks away) and got 2 large carriers, some food, water and litter for when we found him.
We walked back over and called out his name Lucien as soon as he popped his head up from behind one of the parked cars nearby. He started following us BUT then would run into traffic heading towards us!!! Finally after about 10 minutes Food Network star Alton Brown came walking by eating a slice of pizza – ALTON STOPPED TO HELP US CATCH LUCIEN! It turns out he lives in that building…and his owner is named Carol :).
We’re glad this amazing story had a happy ending.
