At the beginning of the fall, my Samantha started going out a lot to meet acquaintances. She never really had any friends, she mostly talked to her friends online, but she did not like to meet them that way. More than once she asked me to lie to her acquaintances about our plans, so that she wouldn’t have to go to this or that party for “a good reason”. All of a sudden, “I’m going out for a walk,” or “I have a meeting.
Since she worked during the week, she didn’t have time to go out, and on weekends, when she wanted to spend time together, she would go out for an hour or so. After the fourth time I was bored with this tendency, I decided to follow her. What if she was cheating? Anything can happen. She lies that she loves, but she meets someone else.
She didn’t go far, she met some young lady in a coffee shop. I snuck in, feeling like a spy at the very least, and overheard them discussing Persian cats. That’s when everything fell into place.
My wife and I had wanted a pet for a long time. I wanted a dog and she was against it, so we agreed we should get a cat. She didn’t mind one from a shelter, but I wanted a nice one. So I put a Persian as an example.
For the next month I waited for the little fluffy miracle, but nothing happened. My wife wouldn’t bring home a cat. I had to ask directly where the kitten was.
– Were you spying on me? – she took offense. – It was supposed to be a surprise!
– You were acting suspicious, what else was I supposed to do? So where is the cat? Tell me immediately, otherwise I will suspect you of something bad.
As it turned out, she had just found the cat’s owner and arranged in advance to take one of the kittens. The cat had not yet given birth, but was about to give birth. Such a conspiracy was to surprise me for the New Year, and I spoiled everything with my surveillance and impatience. At least I have peace of mind.
