Olivia herself grew up in a large family, and as the second eldest sister, she was obligated to babysit the younger ones, take them to day care, and help the older one with the cooking. She had already gone through all those sleepless nights, so when she became pregnant in her first year of high school, she had an abortion without a second thought. The operation had been done wrong somehow, because in the end all the doctors said she couldn’t have any more children, and Olivia was just happy about it. She had no plans to become a mother.
She didn’t want to hear about children, and she had discussed it with her future husband when they first started dating. He pretended to be understanding, he said that he did not want children either, but knowing that Olivia was infertile, he tried to hint at children from the orphanage. Her husband constantly praised those kids, tried to make her feel sorry for them.
