I was cleaning the house. While vacuuming, I broke a piece of linoleum. When I looked under it, I was shocked. There was money underneath it. And not a small amount of it.
At first I thought it was my husband’s stash. I even got mad at him. For a long time I did not dare to tell him about his find. After all, I did not know where he got such a sum of money and what it was for.
I had no desire to even bring up the subject. I could not believe that my own man was hiding money from me, especially such a large sum. However, I made up my mind. I put the money on the table and waited for my husband from work. As soon as he crossed the threshold, I asked:
“What is this?”
The story took an even more interesting turn. It turned out that my husband had no idea what the money was. We laughed in unison.
Most likely it was the savings of the former owners of the apartment. Otherwise we could not explain this find. That was the present we got. I had no idea it could be like this.
