Many people make enemies because of inheritance, but I never thought it would affect me. I have a younger sister, we both live in our own separate apartments that our parents bought for us. My father died three years ago, and this year my mother was also buried.
After the funeral my sister started talking about my parents’ apartment. I said that Mom had made a will for us equally, so there wouldn’t be a problem. “That’s what she told you, not to upset you and not to quarrel, but in fact the apartment is mine,” my sister replied. I didn’t believe her until she showed me the papers. I’m not interested in the apartment, I just want to understand why my mother did that, if she and my father loved us equally?
My sister said that I live alone and unlikely to get married (I’m 38), and she has two children. So my mother left the apartment to her grandchildren, as it were. If this is true, why was this fact hidden from me? I would not mind, I am comfortable in my one-room apartment, and I am really unlikely to get married anymore. All this I understand, but the resentment is just stifling. My mother and sister decided the matter behind my back, as if I was a stranger to them.
My sister, seeing my condition, offered money, not half the cost of the apartment, of course she does not have that kind of money. But I refused. I do not need anything. Mom not only disinherited me, but also ruined the memory of myself, and also made me and my sister strangers. That’s sad.
