Our family lives on 17 square meters. We have eight children. We do not have our own place to live. We are deaf-mute and my husband. I’m not complaining. I just want to share my story.
The kids are already uncomfortable sleeping next to daddy. There’s no room to change clothes or do homework either. How many years of data we’ve been filing since 2007. Now we live here and we have no conditions. Once a month we go swimming. Those who live here do not let us wash.
Of course we have food. We have stew, meat, liver, fruit. We serve it on the bed, they eat it. Still, no one helps. We go every month to the administration.
In the 17 meters there are 10 of us. Are we in a cemetery, we have to live on two meters per person? In the toilet there is no water. The bathroom in the dormitory is one for several rooms.
We are asked and even reproached why we bought this room, and not a house in the village. In the village, you need to keep animals, and how to buy food, people are not interested in that question. They live richly in cottages and do not understand people like us.
We have two bunk beds, the children sleep in turns, the rest on the floor at this time. We use the upper beds as a chiffonier. Under the mattresses are stuff. Under the beds are stuff, under the table and chairs. Everywhere we have nooks and crannies we have stuff lying around.
We don’t go into the common kitchen either. We cook on the stove in the room. Try to cook on the stove for 10 people. We take turns eating. I always cook in a 10-liter pot. There is enough food for a day. We don’t have any frying pans. It’s just impossible to cook two dishes at the same time, they don’t fit on the stove.
I know perfectly well that there is money to buy housing for parents with many children, but they don’t give it to them. Where are the measures to support large families? Where is the social housing out of turn?
