Even before marriage I had heard from married acquaintances that when a man gets married, he immediately considers her his property and begins to show his true face.
But, like any naive young lady, I assumed that my Alex was not like that. Even before we were married he had always looked after me like that, he didn’t want to say a bad word, he was afraid of offending me, so that only I would always be there for him. But I was wrong, like all women. It’s true that when a guy wins a lady’s heart, he doesn’t consider it his duty to do everything for her.
Alex started talking badly about my mom a few months after we got married. Why does she call me so often, why does she come once a week? Naturally, I agreed with him, I was worried about my marriage, so I asked my mom not to contact me, I called her when I was alone. But that wasn’t all. I got pregnant, stayed home and quit my job because the pregnancy was hard. Then my husband started clinging to me with his demands, saying:
“You stay home all day and do nothing around the house.” Again I remained silent – I was pregnant, what if he left me alone? A year and a half after my daughter was born, my husband started demanding that I treat him like a king. When he came home from work, I had to stand at the door, put his slippers on, everything had to be ready on the kitchen table for him to eat warm, delicious food.
He didn’t have to worry about the baby, it was all a woman’s concern. All in all, I was exhausted. So I packed my things and left with the baby to my mother’s house. My spouse and I did not talk for two months, and I even became a beauty before I went to work. One day he came to us, skinny and in tattered clothes, and on his knees asked for forgiveness. And I told him he had to take a cooking class. He would cook and clean if I came back. My spouse agreed, but we’ll see how he behaves.
