Christina got married as soon as she turned 20. Her husband was older than her, although the age difference did not embarrass her. She felt like a stone wall behind Andrew. Recently, however, she regretted that she had ever been in contact with him. Here is the story from her lips.
We live in a two-bedroom apartment, which belongs to her husband. He earns good money, but has to travel often on business trips. And I have my own small business. In addition, I am also studying by correspondence. Naturally, and no one cancelled household chores. I try to make sure the house is always clean and ready.
My husband pays for the utilities – I don’t get into that at all. But lately he has been making complaints to me that I use too much water and light. You see, the bills are going through the roof because of me. I didn’t pay attention to it at first, but then his nagging started to annoy me.
– From now on you pay for the light and water. I work all the time, moreover, I am often on watch. You spend, you pay! I’ll pay the rest of the bills, and these two are on you, dear Cristina. If you don’t pay, I’ll cut off the lights and water.
– What a great family we have. Have you ever wondered why I use so much light and water? I probably cook, clean, do laundry, work on the computer! What’s the point of all this complaining anyway? Am I supposed to save water, sit in the dark, and wash dishes in a basin? Are you out of your mind?
If you don’t want to pay, don’t. But I won’t either. I can move in with my parents, and I won’t count how many times I washed my hands and how many kilowatts of light I got. And you cook, wash, and save! By the way, you’ll have to wear things that aren’t fresh. Do you like clean shirts? So ask how much light and water wind the washing machine!
After this answer, her husband had no more complaints. Had Christine done the right thing or not?
