My husband and I bought a new apartment relatively recently. A few weeks after moving in, our second son was born. A joyous event, wasn’t it? Except that all the in-laws ignored him.
– You’re lucky, and your sister’s not. Everything is going smoothly for you, and she has a problem on a problem,” said her mother reproachfully.
It’s normal, isn’t it? I mean, I should be ashamed of the fact that I’m already a mother twice, that I bought an apartment and am not sitting on my parents’ neck. My sister’s suffering is not justified, no matter how much my mom defends her.
Elizabeth is two years younger than me. She was always my parents’ favorite. She got the best of everything. As a child she was often sick and showed her obnoxious nature. If I went to kindergarten without any absences, she stayed there for a month at most the whole year. She was always pitied. So Elizabeth got used to the idea that she could achieve anything with her manipulation.
She cried and her parents solved all her problems. As a child, she always took away my toys this way. If she didn’t want to clean up, she pretended to have a headache, and I had to do all the errands.
She even had her phone earlier. My mother spent all the money on it, so I was left without a present for my birthday.
– I’ll buy you sneakers in the summer,” Mom said.
When I was 19 I met my future husband. He gave me everything I couldn’t get from my parents. A year later we got married, and my sister laughed at me.
– You picked yourself a simpleton! Now you’ll live with your mother-in-law under the same roof all your life. You’re a fool!
My mother-in-law and I had a great relationship. We lived together for 8 years, and then we bought our own place. She literally babysat our eldest grandson and helped us solve the housing problem. The maternity capital allowed us to buy a two-flat instead of a one-flat.
When my younger sister decided to get married, my mother couldn’t be happier:
– Just a great couple. With money and handsome. Look at the engagement ring he gave her!
My mother didn’t think my husband was human. She even called me stupid, because I had a baby when I was 22.
I didn’t go to Elizabeth’s wedding – she said there should be no children there. Moreover, the invitation she put only me, and my husband did not think it was necessary. So I decided that let them have fun without me.
A year after the “lucky” marriage everything came to a halt. My mom called me and started sobbing into the phone.
– What happened? – I was scared.
– My son-in-law left. He said it was impossible to live with Elizabeth. Come and comfort your sister.
I did not want to go to her, because relations between us were not close. All the more reason to console her. It was all her own fault. Or rather, her scandalous character. And when I went to my mother’s with my son, Elizabeth saw me and started yelling:
– I hate her! Why she has a husband and child, and I have nothing?
I just turned around and went home. My mother called me, but I did not want to take care of the plight of my unhappy sister. She couldn’t handle being abandoned. So proper and perfect. Anyway, Elizabeth decided to get her husband back. She stalked him, imposed on him, sent all sorts of texts, which made her son-in-law even angrier.
– I’m going to get him back, and then I’m going to leave him first. I’ll have my revenge! – That was Elizabeth’s goal, and it wasn’t about love at all.
Of course, she did not succeed in getting her husband back. Not only that, she found out that he had already married a new girl and she was pregnant from him. Elizabeth hit a new wave of depression, which suffered from all relatives.
– Here you are, simple, and what a man grabbed! Why does he love you? Why is my Elizabeth so unlucky? You spitefully pretend to be happy, to spite your sister, – my mother told me.
