A sunny summer day was already drawing to a close, but it was still light and, perhaps because of that, the train driver saw an object on the tracks from a distance. He began to slow down just in case and honk the horn, but when he got a better look he decided to brake immediately: a red cat was sitting on the tracks. The animal was unspeakably lucky, because the train stopped just 10 centimeters away from the moustached cat.
After the train managed to stop a man came out to see what happened to the cat.
It turned out that the redhead was tied to the rails with a rope and his death was inevitable. The man released the animal, took it far away from the railroad tracks and decided to take a picture. He wrote to his wife about the story that happened to him and sent a photo of the cat. The woman immediately appealed for help to animal advocates and handed over all the data.
Volunteers printed out a photo of the animal and went to search the nearest area where the whisker had been rescued. After a while the cat was found in the village near the railroad line. The volunteer who organized the search said that after the rescue, the cat returned back to his home.
The owner of the cat was a 30 year old woman. She herself only found out about what had happened from the animal defenders. The day the cat disappeared, she and her husband were at work, while her mother was at home. She decided the cat was dead and took it to the railroad tracks, so the animal would not suffer.
When asked who tied the cat to the rails, she did not answer anything intelligible. She also did not want to give the animal into the custody of animal rights activists. A full week of negotiations about the fate of the moustached cat passed, while they managed to come to terms with the owners and take the animal in good conditions.
Volunteers managed to find out some information about the cat: his name is Jonny and he is 12 years old. Now he is in an animal shelter, where he is cared for and his health is constantly monitored. Fluffy has recovered from the shock and is feeling fine. You would not even say that the cat is 64 years old by human standards and is very playful and alert.
There are already several people who would like to take Jonny and take him in their homes. Volunteers are ready to give the moustached cat into good hands on condition that the cat will visit the family every month. The machinist, in turn, was rewarded for having responded in time to give the animal a second life.
