My grandmother was offended that I did not congratulate her on March 8. But it’s not Mother’s Day, she could have congratulated me, and in general – claims to the son should be!

My grandmother lives in the country, quite far from the city, so we rarely visit her as a family, mostly in the summer, for a few weeks. On holidays, such as New Year’s Eve or grandmother’s birthday, we try to come, though not always possible, but be sure to call and congratulate each other.

But recently she said something that is hard to comprehend. It was March 8, I went out with friends, and my mother was at home with my father to some mini holiday dinner organized for the family. We called my grandmother closer to evening, because we were busy before that.

In response we heard a lot of “nice things:
– Everyone’s relatives come here with flowers, and you even have trouble calling! – she cried into the tube. – You do not appreciate me, and my own daughter and granddaughter…

She was mad at us, she cried for a long time, we calmed her down, but my question in the tube was a huge problem and a new reason for her tears:

– Why didn’t you call us yourself? It’s not “Mother’s Day,” it’s World Women’s Day. It’s customary to congratulate my mother and me, too.

As a result, my grandmother did not talk to me for two weeks. She was holding a grudge because I reproached her.

Mom and I also deserved congratulations. I believe that in general, on such a holiday to congratulate the men should, so my grandmother should have a complaint to my father and his son, and not to take out her dissatisfaction on us.
