– Where are you? We came to visit and you’re not home! What kind of outrage is this? – My sister told me indignantly.

My name is Christina. I live in Moscow with my husband. Twelve years ago I came to study in the capital. Here I graduated from the institute and got a job. And then two years later I met Richard. We dated for a year and then got married.

At first we lived with my husband’s parents and collected money for an apartment. Now we are already living in our own two-room apartment. But we still have a long way to go to pay the mortgage. And now my relatives started coming to visit us all the time. Everyone wants to see the capital, but no one wants to spend money on a hotel. It so happened that this year my husband and I finally had a vacation, and we decided to go on vacation by the sea. We bought tickets for June 15. I began to pack my suitcases.

And then on June 10 I got a call from my cousin. She told me that she and her husband and son would be coming to visit us on June 20. I told her that my husband and I are going to the sea, and we will not be home.

– What are you talking about the sea? Surrender tickets! After all, we are almost a year we have not seen! – said Sarah angrily.

And I told her that I do not surrender tickets. And I will not change my plans for vacation, too. Not even for the sake of seeing her. After all, my husband and I so dreamed of vacation!

– We will go to rest on the sea! – I clearly and distinctly told my sister.

My sister took offense and hung up. My husband and I quietly left to rest on the sea. And then on June 20, in the evening, my sister called me. I answered her call. And she yells at me:
– Well, where are you? We came to your place, we stand in front of your door, calling. And no one opens the door!
– And we can’t open the door, because we’re at sea! I told you that!
– But I thought you were just saying that so we wouldn’t come!
– No, I told you the truth!
– What are we supposed to do now?
– Well, you can stay in a hotel! Get a room and live!
– But we don’t have the money for that!
– Then I don’t know what you should do! Go back! You’re adults and you decide for yourselves what to do! I told you we wouldn’t be home! It’s not my fault you didn’t take my words seriously!

My sister hung up on me. She hasn’t called me since. She told all my relatives about how bad I was, that I had left, and that she had nowhere to live. The interesting thing is that all the relatives are supportive of Sara. They think everything is my fault. And I do not understand: what am I to blame? That she went on vacation with her husband? But I honestly warned Sarah about it. It’s Sarah’s problem, not mine, that she didn’t have money for a hotel. What do you think, am I right?
