I complained to my son that I didn’t get enough of my pension. And instead of giving me money, he found me a part-time job.

I am 57 years old and I retired six months ago. I’m just tired of working, and I have a lot of health problems. So I decided that I was going to go for walks in the park, I was going to watch soap operas. In general, I will enjoy life.

But I can’t do it, because I don’t have enough pension to live a normal life. My pension only covers food and medicine. But I need to get my teeth fixed, and I’d like to go somewhere to rest. And it wouldn’t hurt to buy some new clothes. I used to be able to afford everything on my salary.

My son is already married, he earns good money, and he lives separately. So I’ve been spending all of my salary for years on myself. Robert and his wife pay the mortgage, but they do it without difficulty or savings. They have enough money for clothes and to go on vacation. They purposely calculated that way so they could live normally. Maybe they did the right thing, because they have only one life.

Their son and his wife have two more years to pay the mortgage. And then they want to have a baby. Before that, the daughter-in-law wants to go to driving school to get her driver’s license. Robert wants to buy a car for his wife.

Robert can help me with money, well at least give me money sometimes. But he does not. And it is uncomfortable for me to ask my son for money, so I started hinting. I began to say that my washing machine was bad, that I needed to go to visit my sister on her anniversary, but I needed to buy a good gift, and I had no money for it.

I thought that my son would help me with money. But he did something completely different instead: he found me a part-time job! One day Robert said to me:

– Mom, you’re always complaining that you don’t have enough money to live on. Well, now I know where to get it. I have a colleague, his wife is coming back from maternity leave. They’re looking for a nanny for their three-year-old daughter. That’s just the perfect job for you!

I was just shocked when I heard about it. I’m not even going to babysit my grandson. And then my son asks me to babysit someone else’s three-year-old.

– Are you out of your mind? I don’t have the strength and health to work anymore! That’s why I even quit my job! And you want me to babysit a little kid!
– Well, you’d make good money! And the girl is an adult, because the girl is already three years old. What can be difficult with her? – said my son.

He has no idea how difficult it is with a small child.
– After all, a little baby is such a responsibility! You have to watch her all the time so that no harm can come to her! I am not ready to take on that responsibility. And my health does not allow me to do so! – I told my son.

I was very upset with my son. I was hoping he would help me with money. And instead he offered me a job. And what a job! A nanny! I just don’t know what to do.
