My husband got sick and changed a lot. He just became insane. It became impossible to live with him, so I filed for divorce.

Recently I packed my things and moved in with my sister. Of course, I took my children with me. I hope I can get an apartment soon and then move out of my sister’s house. I’ve been married for 12 years. I’ve been the envy of all my friends. Why? Because I was very lucky with my husband.

My husband Adam was a very good man. He made good money. We paid the mortgage on our two-bedroom apartment, did repairs in the apartment. Adam spent a lot of time with the kids. He loved me and our children very much. Adam bought us all gifts, and we went on a lot of trips. All in all, we lived just fine.

In order for us to buy a two-bedroom apartment, Adam even sold his one-bedroom apartment. We had two children: sons, the oldest is 9 years old and the youngest is 4 years old. Adam loves our children very much.

After maternity leave I went to work, but I worked not for the money, but just for my soul. I led clubs at the children’s art school. I taught kids to draw. I earned not very much and spent my salary on various small things. We lived on Adam’s salary.

We almost never fought. That was the great relationship we had. But a year ago Adam got sick. He put up with it for a long time and didn’t pay attention to the fact that he wasn’t feeling well. And then one day he fainted at work. His colleagues called an ambulance. It soon turned out that Adam had a benign tumor – a brain tumor. But it had already managed to grow very big, and to make a gentle operation was no longer possible, because the disease was very neglected. That’s why we had to make the most real, difficult surgery.

After the surgery my husband had facial nerve palsy and had some problems with his hearing. But doctors say that Adam is still very lucky. Now Adam is recovering from the surgery. But a lot of other problems came up. Right after he was discharged from the hospital, Adam quit his job. Although he was able to work. In addition, the colleges and superiors were very much looking forward to his return. But Adam told me:

– I’ve already worked hard, so now you have to support our family!

Of course, the money we had set aside quickly ran out. And after all, we were used to living well. I got another job. Of course, I get very tired. And when I come home, the house is a mess. And my husband lies on the couch all day, watching TV or lying with his phone. And I have to cook, do laundry, and clean up after work.

Adam is just acting inadequately. He constantly yells at me and at our children. He has everyone to blame for the fact that he is sick, even our four-year-old son. Adam watches TV shows all the time, and he’s preparing for the end of the world. He categorically refuses to see a psychiatrist. He screams that I want to put him in an asylum.

And he tells me that I am cheating on him and that I have tons of lovers. In the end, I couldn’t take it anymore. I took our kids and went to live with my sister. Of course, I filed for divorce. Now none of my in-laws want to communicate with me. They assure me that when Adam was earning money and I was sitting on his neck, I needed him. And now that he is sick and has no money, I left him. Everyone talks about how I’m a horrible selfish person.

But in fact I’m not. If Adam had agreed to go to a psychiatrist and behaved normally, I never would have left him. But I have to think not only about myself, but also about our children…
