My spouse doesn’t have to support all of his ex’s children?

I told my spouse: either he will pay his ex the same amount of child support or I’m filing for divorce. I don’t understand why he has to pay child support for someone else’s child as well, since this boy has his own father and we are not going to play charity.

I’ve thought a lot about if it makes sense to tie my life together with a man with a child and child support in the past. I know many stories of men going back to their ex-wives years later, so I don’t want to be a temporary airfield for my spouse.

I met my husband a little over two years ago and we have had a great relationship ever since, so when he proposed I decided to accept. We lived in my apartment and our two salaries were enough, even though he was paying alimony.

At that time my spouse’s child was six years old. My husband saw his son all the time at his mother’s, because my grandmother was also happy to see her grandson. I did not think it was necessary even to meet his son, I was sure that I was superfluous in this idyll.

My husband’s first wife was busy with her personal life and her second child, so she did not prevent my father from meeting his son. The second baby was from another man. The spouse and his ex had discussed the alimony amount by themselves, and that is why there was no court case. This was an option that suited everyone.

For almost two years the relationship between the spouse and his ex had been smooth and uncomplicated: he paid her alimony and systematically met with his son. But then everything was turned upside down. I noticed that my husband’s salary dropped considerably. I first took it with understanding, because he assured me that in connection with the quarantine they were deprived of premiums, but when they have planned a corporate party, I realized that my husband was hiding something from me.

I called my husband for a frank conversation and he told me that the mother of his son had worked up an appetite and she began to demand that he gave her more money or she would forbid him to enter the child.

I started to find out what this lady was breathing. Let me tell you right off the bat, some interesting information came to light. I found out from my friends that this lady was married and had her second child during her second marriage. Then she separated from this man and her financial situation got very bad.

Her second husband said that she would never get alimony, because her father’s official salary was minimal, so she would not be able to get a decent amount from him. The lady racked her brains and decided to hang her second offspring on my husband.

I told my husband everything I found out, since he was the person concerned. I was very shocked that he knew all this without me, because she had told him herself that he now had to support both of her children. My spouse was a non-conflicted person, and besides that he was very attached to the child, so he accepted all of her conditions without complaint.

However, I am not going to do charity, but I do not want to quarrel either, so I made my spouse a condition: either he will pay alimony for my son only, or I will file for divorce.

If I have to go through the court, I’m ready to do it, but I will not let this enterprising person hang all her children on us! I wonder, if she has another dozen, will my spouse support those too?
