Scarred and fearful dog can’t help but cling gratefully to her rescuers. Natalie Olivieri is a woman who has dedicated her life to rescuing abandoned animals, so she has enough experience to identify the suffering in a fearful and scarred dog that clung to the rescuers as a sign of gratitude. You don’t have to be a fortune teller to know that life on the street is not easy for any living being. Much less for dogs and cats that wander from one place to another without being able to express their needs. Like many animals, she ended up in Redlands, a place located in Orlando, Florida. There, countless pets end up abandoned by their former families. Read on to discover the story of this fearful dog and the origin of all her scars. Redland is a place that has become popular among Orlando residents. The reason is that it is where people who no longer want to keep their pets go to leave them abandoned. “The place is practically a dog dump,” Natalie explained. She’s not just any rescue, she’s the vice president of Furever Bully Love Rescue, an organization that has dedicated itself to changing the living situation for the abandoned.
Natalie’s organization partnered with Redland Rock Pit Abandoned Dog Project to visit Redlands on a daily basis to try to make a difference in the lives of the abandoned. One day they managed to collect 100 pounds of feed to feed about 100 dogs. “I will never forget the moment when we put the food out and a large number of dogs started to appear from everywhere,” said the woman.
While at the site they found many dogs in need of help, among them was Harper, a canine hound mix who was about a year old. The little dog was fearful and scarred. “As soon as Harper approached us and we met, she completely fell to the ground because of her panic of people,” the rescuer explained.
As she complemented, it seems that the furry was abused, neglected and abandoned in that place, that’s why they couldn’t leave her even a minute longer there. When they put her on a leash to transport her, they saw that she had marks on her head and back. In addition, she refused to move from the spot where she was, fear was taking hold of her. However, her guardian angels did everything possible to get her into the car and take her for a health check-up.
Harper was not feeling well at all. She was anemic, infested with worms and reported infections. Although this diagnosis is difficult to read, the most worrisome was the psychological damage that had been done to her at the Paso, which prevented her from trusting humans. Although they thought this problem would prevent her from finding a loving home, suddenly everything changed. As Natalie tells it, the canine lasted three days without getting up, but when her colleague Jennifer Adorno held her, her countenance changed and she clung to her in an endless, thankful embrace. “I’ve never had a dog hug me so much,” said the fellow rescuer.
It was in this way that love has been the best medicine for the little dog, who is no longer so fearful. She is receiving psychological and physical recovery care at Cheryl Kessler’s temporary home. In this place full of love and patience, she has achieved great changes, she gets out of her bed and walks around the yard at her disposal.
