When I saw another woman in my husband’s car, I opened the door and asked just one question

I never thought of my figure as important to a man. I’ve never been thin. I was always of a normal build. You couldn’t call me fat either. There were many suitors when I was young, but I chose Frank. We dated for about a year and then got married. Everything was wonderful at first. Love and understanding. My son was born and then it began. I almost immediately put on ten kilos. I didn’t manage to lose it. My husband started to treat me cold.

He didn’t even try to hide his cold attitude towards me. Often he would say to me, “Look at what you’ve become like. You have dissolved yourself beyond recognition. “It’s embarrassing to even go out with you. And I was hurt. I tried my best.

The baby was taking up a lot of my time, and I almost didn’t have time for myself. I looked at myself in the mirror and realized that I was far from perfect. I wanted to be the way I was before I got married and had a baby. And then my husband constantly criticized me.

I tried to take care of myself, but it had very little effect. My mother said that I should not worry, that it was just our body shape. My mother-in-law always calmed me down, but at the same time said that I needed to look after myself. My husband’s brother, on the contrary, told me that it was even better. He was five years older than me and two years older than my husband.

He still doesn’t have a family of his own. He often comes to see us, and we get along well. I ask him why he’s still single; he says he hasn’t met the right one yet. And sometimes he laughs, adding: you need someone like you, and today’s girls are chasing a perfect body. You can’t even go to a restaurant with them. They don’t eat anything, and I can’t eat in front of them either. It’s embarrassing.

All our conversations are light and humorous. My husband, sometimes, says something offensive to me about my excess weight, not shying away from strangers. Even his brother makes remarks to him about it. It got to the point where my husband was staying late after work more and more, and sometimes he wouldn’t even come home at night. All the time he kept referring to being busy. But I’m not blind and understand something in life. So well-wishers began to denounce that they saw him with a young and slender girl.

One day, outside a store, I saw my husband’s car and a girl in it. I went over, opened the door, and asked who she was. She didn’t hesitate to tell me she was practically his wife. There you go! An unexpected statement; and then who am I? Then my husband came up. I asked: “What does it all mean?” He said to me, “Go home, we’ll talk later.” He got in his car and drove off. I went home and couldn’t find my way. My husband came home and told me he was filing for divorce.

He’s in love with someone else and he’s going to her. I didn’t stop him or even ask him to. He packed his things and left. That same night his brother stopped by. He already knew everything. He began to calm me down. He talked to me for a long time, and I became calm.

And then he admitted that he had loved me for a long time. It had been six months since we were married. He calls me his “favorite bun. And I have no complexes about my figure. I’m perfectly happy. And my husband and that girl didn’t work out either. They broke up and he’s looking again.
