I have a very good relationship with my mother-in-law, Maria. I have been married for 17 years, my husband and I have two sons. And at the end of last year I found out that I was pregnant for the third time. I wanted to tell my mother-in-law on her birthday, January 1, but I was very worried.
The fact that our family lives alone in a small two-room apartment, where there is barely room for four … And I at that time was already 38, which is a lot for a pregnancy. In short, I was afraid that Maria would judge me.
But on the day of my mother-in-law’s birthday I had to pull myself together.
We went to her, and she almost immediately called me into the kitchen to help her. It turns out that Mary is a wise woman and noticed everything at once. I didn’t even have to explain anything to her.
I was stunned by such insight, but I was even more surprised by the reaction. My mother-in-law got very excited and shared that she really wanted a long-awaited granddaughter.
And so, with my mother-in-law’s blessing, I gave birth to a daughter this summer. For the third time, my grandmother was very helpful, taking care of the baby and supporting us in all situations. I appreciated it very much and treated Maria as my own mother.
Soon winter came again, and here we were again going to Maria’s for her birthday, but already with a little princess. Since my mother-in-law started baking a lot, we decided to give her a good oven.
The celebration was over. My family and I were on our way home, but my mother-in-law stopped me. Asked for a moment’s attention to make an announcement…
Maria said that she was very grateful to the children for her granddaughter and wanted to thank us. That is why she will move into our apartment, but she would like to give us her two-room apartment. I was speechless. Once again, I was convinced that I had a very kind and wise mother-in-law, who became a friend to me as well, which is such a rarity in life.
We continue to live happily and in perfect harmony. I admire my mother-in-law and dream of gaining life wisdom from her.
