A year and a half ago my husband and I became parents. I gave birth to a wonderful baby girl.And so this year, despite the fact that our daughter is still so young, we decided to go on a vacation with my husband. When my mother came to visit us, we told her about our plans.
My mother said:
– How will you rest with a small child? You won’t be able to have a normal holiday with her. My neighbor recently came back from a vacation. Her children took her to look after their children. I would also go, but I just do not have the money.
Of course, we took a hint from my mom, but right away we did not tell her anything. We decided to consult and think it over. Anyway, the next day we told my mom that we wanted her to come with us. But I honestly told my mom:
– Look, Mom, my husband is paying for your entire trip. You’ll stay in a private room, he’ll buy you tickets, too. We’ll even give you money for minor expenses. But you will be there to help us with. I’ll give you extra money! Just so my husband doesn’t know anything about it!
Mom happily agreed. And so we flew. The first day we spent together. After the flight we were tired and went to bed early. And then the next day my husband told my mother:
– You take your granddaughter with you to your room tonight. And we want to go to a restaurant tonight!
– I would love to, but sorry, I can’t. Yesterday I bought two excursions and I am leaving early in the morning! – Mom answered us.
– Mom, wait! I don’t understand what’s going on! You were supposed to help us with the baby! We agreed on this from the very beginning!
– But I only bought two excursions. I only have two days to myself and my vacation. And then I will help you with the baby! -promised us my mother.
Of course, we agreed. Two days later, my mother said:
– Oh, I think I have a cold! Let’s you take care of the baby yourself in the meantime! I don’t want to infect her!
– Mama, you don’t look sick at all! You have neither a runny nose, nor a cough! – I was surprised.
A week has passed. Mom constantly complained about not feeling well. And then I happened to see my mom eating ice cream.
– Mom! What are you doing? What about your sore throat? Or are you not sick at all, and you just lied to us for so many days?
– But I want to rest too! I work, too, and I’m very tired! I am not your nanny! – My mother answered me.
I was outraged:
– But we agreed that we’ll pay you a vacation, and you’re going to help us with the baby in return. And you rest in your own pleasure!
I was very much offended at my mother. In general, until the end of the vacation we had no contact with her. We returned home, but still do not communicate. It’s been three months, but I still can’t forgive my mother for what she did…
