My husband wanted an “honest” split budget. I agreed and did the math.

In our day, families lived by the usual rules. Everything used to be calmer and easier. And now there are new concepts.

Separate budgets. Especially the men who bring money into the house like that. And don’t do anything else. No one will be surprised if one day the husband comes and says that from now on everyone will live with their own paycheck. Or the rent will be paid separately. But there are some mishaps here, too. An acquaintance of mine has a boyfriend.

They have been dating for a long time. He decided to move in with her. They are grown-up people, and it is not their first marriage. They have seen a lot, they have a lot of experience. They love each other very much and are going to live together. All is well, but here the man proposes to live by modern rules. To divide all expenses and costs in half. A friend was surprised.

She did not understand why such complicated things should be. Their salaries are almost the same. However, she weighed all the pros and cons – and agreed. She realized that this would be even better. She made a few points to make sure everyone had a good time. For example, eggs, fruits, and vegetables that are in the vegetable garden, the man will buy at store prices.

Also will be with jams, pickles, compotes. Anything in the house would also count. The next item was laundry, cleaning, cooking. Washing dishes, ironing. If there were objections to lunch or dinner, there would be a separate charge for that as well.

Meter readings, use of appliances, utensils, and furniture. Sleeping on the bed will also be calculated by the hour, like in a hotel. Unfortunately, a big disappointment awaits the lover of European standards. Everything is fair.

Maybe now women’s labor will be appreciated at last. Otherwise it turns out that all the duties on the hostess, the property is hers, and the money in the end should be divided equally. The young man thought about it and realized that it would be much more profitable for him to live by the usual rules. They lived happily, and no one else followed the new standards.
