A small puppy was found in a neighborhood in Ireland thanks to a woman who was walking by and decided not to overlook his whimpering coming from a plastic bag on the ground.
The puppy, now named “Bobby”, was only about 5 weeks old, an age when he should be close to his mother. It is clear that someone intentionally left him there to die.
Fortunately, the woman immediately took him home and tried to contact a rescue center that could take care of him. Ramona Cunningham, one of the owners of Dog Rescue Coolronan, told The Dodo: “[She] contacted us to help him because he was very sick and could hardly walk.”
When Ramona and her partner Chris Kelly found out what was going on with Bobby they decided to go get him right away and take him to a veterinarian for a checkup. The condition of this adorable little puppy was very bad, but he certainly proved to be a warrior. Ramona said:
“He was so weak and emaciated that he really couldn’t stand up due to the lack of muscle mass in his hind legs”.
Thanks to the care of his rescuers, Bobby started with his recovery process and after a few days he showed great improvements. He regained the use of his hind legs and began to run and behave like a happy and healthy puppy.
After sharing his story through Facebook many people were interested in adopting Bobby, but his rescuers could not let him go because his adorable personality won them over. Ramona and her husband Chris decided to give Bobby a forever home. He is a very funny and loyal puppy. Ramona said:
“My husband Chris fell in love with him, it’s so sweet to see the special little bond they have. Our other six dogs are all female, so I think it was time for Chris to have someone on his side. ”
Bobby is getting all the love he deserves from his rescuers and now foster parents, he is no doubt going to grow up very strong and happy every day.
