My son and I were on our way back from the health clinic. We had our scheduled vaccinations and were moving toward the bus stop. Suddenly a family of three came up. I noticed them, because the man looked very much like my husband. I was even surprised, maybe a relative of some kind. My son noticed that, too. He pulled me aside and shouted to the stranger:
– Daddy! I thought you said you were going to work. Is that my brother? Did you buy it after all?
The woman took it and slapped her husband in the face. She blushed and got angry. I wanted to explain something, but she wouldn’t let me get a word in.
– I knew you were running away! You could have confessed! That’s why you’re always late at work! – She yelled.
I was so dumbfounded. To be honest, I even felt guilty. I tried to explain that her husband looked like mine, and showed her a picture. But she wouldn’t even look at it. The man tried to calm his wife down, but she was becoming insane.
My son was watching and didn’t even realize he was the one who had started the scandal.
When our bus pulled up, we excused ourselves and hopped on in. I couldn’t calm down after that. I was both laughing and sad at the same time. I don’t know how the fate of those people turned out.
My husband laughed when I told him about it. It was the wife, she could have listened, instead of throwing accusations after an innocent phrase.
