I’ll try to keep our son away from his mother-in-law

My mother-in-law and I have never been close, for some reason she thinks I am ugly, “gray”, as she once said. In principle, what business is it of hers, after all I was chosen by her son, not her, if a man liked me, why should he compare his opinion with her?

When I started living in her apartment, the pressure and demonstration of “who’s the boss of the house” began immediately. Even in how to apply makeup, my mother-in-law was always giving me advice, as if she worked as a top makeup artist.

When I gave birth to my son the situation did not change, on the contrary, instead of help from “dear mother” I constantly listened to reproaches and admonitions, and in the end, in order not to lose milk because of nerves, I moved with the baby to my parents.

For a month, seeing that I was determined, my husband rented a one-room apartment, and our relationship, you could say, was restored. Then the cracks began to appear again. My mother-in-law started coming to visit, and, like an inspector, she wandered around looking for what I had done wrong. Looked in the fridge, instantly determining what was missing, surprised that we have such a high utility bill (“I think three hours in the shower?”).

But the most frustrating thing was that my mother-in-law never gave her grandson anything. Absolutely nothing! It was as if she had no money at all!

Lately, after my unflattering remarks about her, my mother-in-law stopped coming to us. Now she is dumping a lump of negativity on the phone, and quickly disconnects so she doesn’t hear anything back.

I asked my husband to leave our family alone, I am not going to communicate with her at all, and I will try to keep her from communicating with our son.
