What a neighbor I have! She left her children without an inheritance.

I have a neighbor, a grandmother. She is a very good and kind person, but her children are completely different. Her sons only come to see her when she gets her pension: that is, once a month. They are not poor people at all. They come to her in cool foreign cars and are dressed very well.

Grandma’s pension is small, enough only to pay for utilities and buy medicine and food. At the same time, Grandma constantly buys gifts for her grandchildren. Just for gifts for her children, her children come to her.

And yet they never help her. And it’s all because of her apartment. The children are always arguing about who gets her grandmother’s apartment. So she decided to do this: she divided her apartment in half. When her sons found out about it, they made a huge scandal. Each demanded that only he got the apartment.

And after that the sons began to come even less often: only once a month. My grandmother had lived in the village all her life. She worked very hard and managed to save for an apartment. Now we help her with the whole house: we buy food and medicine. We tried several times to talk to her children: that they also help their mother, but they refused us.

And then one of our neighbors offered to eliminate the cause of the scandals. He suggested that we rewrite the apartment to someone else. We helped my grandmother to do that. We took her to the notary and she rewrote the inheritance to her grandchildren. The apartment would belong to the grandchildren when they turned 18 years old.

Four years passed. The children have reconciled to the fact that they will not become owners of the apartment, they will not inherit anything after their mother’s death. And the grandchildren, secretly from their parents, visit their grandmother very often. They buy her groceries, cook her meals, and clean up. We think that grandmother did the right thing.

Do you agree with that?
