One day I was in a mall and unwittingly witnessed an unusual incident. A little boy about 5 years old was begging, even demanding, to buy something for him. He sat down on the floor of the store. He started yelling so much that a security guard came running.
Mother and son came to choose a gift, as he was invited to the name day to a friend. They chose a gift and were on their way to the checkout. Only in the midst of all this abundance spotted a car, which he liked. It was the car his classmate from kindergarten bragged about.
It is clear that he wanted to have exactly the same car. And he tried with all his might to prove to his mother that she was wrong. And he cried and stammered. He made a real scandal. He fell on the dirty floor, screamed, hysterical. Well, everything is classic. That’s how babies behave sometimes.
I paid attention to my mother’s reaction. She calmly bought a gift for her son’s friend and without paying attention to her son’s tantrums went out. There she sat on a nearby bench and quietly waited for the end of his tantrum.
– So, are you acting this way because I did not buy you a car? – she asked the question to her offspring.
– Well, of course,” he answers, sobbing.
– Perhaps you have forgotten that a few days ago you were bought a car, after which you swore not to ask me anything?
– Well, maaaaaah! – my son wouldn’t let up.
– I am not in a hurry to go anywhere at the moment. So I’ll wait quietly until you calm down.
After these words mother took a book out of her bag and started to read. Gawkers had already gathered around her. The child was still naughty for a few minutes, but he realized that he was not going to get anything. After that, he tore off his clothes and sat down next to his mother.
The mother sighed, put the book back, and they went shopping together.
