You knew it was easy to have a fight with your sister. To do so is quite enough to deny her a request. And I’m not talking about a six-year-old girl right now. I’m talking about a woman who is almost forty years old.
Kira is four years older than me, but it always seemed to be the other way around. Sis acted like a flighty child. My mother tells me that Kira started acting that way after I was born. My little sister got jealous and started to draw attention to herself that way. Whether this is true or not I don’t know. Despite the fact that our little girl is now in her mid-thirties, her behavior has remained the same.
I have been a pastry chef for over ten years, and I have been spoiling food since high school, shocking my parents because I used to make delicious culinary masterpieces.
I worked in a cafe for a while, but about two years ago I quit and started working for myself. I had a huge client base, and my boyfriend and the Internet are helping me get new clients. I have tons of orders especially before the holidays. Those are the days when I’m literally worn out from exhaustion.
Anyone who has never baked anything harder than pancakes knows very well how physically exhausting it is. And if you ordered any complicated design, then the effort to do it would have to spend five times more. I like this work very much, and it gives me a lot of pleasure.
My relatives also very often come to me for help. So that they and I was not too expensive, I ask to buy them only all the necessary ingredients, and sometimes, I make them a cake as a gift. However, all relatives know that I have to give a month’s notice that they need my services, because I have everything scheduled.
At first there were mess-ups, but then I did not have so many customers. Over time, everyone got used to it and always told me in advance.
I never forgot my little sister’s birthday coming up, but she said she wasn’t planning to celebrate it, and was going to devote the whole day to herself. No one disagreed with her, because it is possible to give presents without a feast. I noted that I could take orders on that day.
However, two days before the anniversary abruptly changed my sister’s plans, and she decided that it will still be a banquet. I cursed to myself, since I don’t like it if something disrupts my plans, but I figured my own sister’s birthday party was a good excuse. I knew I would have to stay up all night to get my order in.
I had a gift already prepared for her, but half a day before her birthday my sister called and told me that I’d owe her a cake.
– Make me the same one you made for my mother’s anniversary. It was awesome. I want one too.
That’s great! This cake is very time-consuming, because for it you not only have to bake the cakes, but also to make mousse and jelly and cherries in liquor. And on top of that, I had to make, in addition to the custom cake, twenty more cupcakes. That’s exactly what I told my sister. However, she said I could refuse the order to please her on her birthday. But it could have hurt my reputation a lot.
Sis said that it was clear to her and hung up. I was used to her antics like that, so I treated them with indifference.
The next morning I sent her a congratulatory text message, to which she did not respond in any way. But the most interesting surprise was yet to come. When I went to his sister, she threw me out, adding that I went to bake cakes for their clients and did not waste time with his family.
I was very offended by her antics, I did not even have time to think. I understand that she has always been infantile, but this is just too much. The next day my mother called and told me off for not showing up at my sister’s birthday party. I briefly outlined the situation, and she told me that I myself was to blame, as knowing the squabbling nature of her sister and could give her a concession. I laughed a little bit at this turn of events, and I told her that I was sick and tired of her whims.
The next day my little sister sent me a text message: “Do you still have enough conscience to tattle to your mother? I told my mother that I wasn’t going to indulge her every whim anymore, and let it be what it was!
