You don’t give me money, and what should I feed my child with?

A couple of weeks ago in the morning Helena, my husband’s sister, called:
– Why isn’t your husband picking up the phone? Are you the one who won’t let him?

She became hysterical. Almost. And it sounded annoying.

– Helena, make it clearer. I’m busy. – I answered rudely.
-She’s busy. And my brother is busy. And no one gives me any money. What am I supposed to feed the baby with? – Helena started screaming. At the end she was almost screaming.
– Helena, we gave you some money a couple of days ago. Go to work. They’ll give you money for sure. Maybe you didn’t know that money doesn’t come out of nowhere – you have to earn it!

That’s the fifth time she’s called in the last couple of weeks. It’s like she’s feeding off that money. How can you spend money so quickly? And borrowed money.

Her husband’s sister’s life was hopeless. She’d cheated on her husband with a rich lover, but he wouldn’t go any further. He left her alone. Her husband could not forgive her for being unfaithful. She does not want to go to work. And the child asks for food.

Her spouse’s nephew is placed in kindergarten, so his mother is perfectly capable of going to work. If it weren’t for the time she spent sitting on dating sites, she’d go to work. I don’t have time.

– I’ll stop by your place tonight. If you don’t pay up, I’ll complain to my mother. – and she hung up on me.

I wasn’t afraid of her threats. I have a great mother-in-law. She’s a worldly woman. If my daughter thinks about messing with her head, she’ll get it. Mother’s not ashamed.

I was at work late, and when I came home, I found my nephew at home, but without Helena. She’d gone away. Her lover took her to Italy and she brought her son to our door. She took off on her own. I could not leave him in the staircase, – said the husband in a tired voice.

Again… How much longer can it be… But she did not disappear. Soon she dialed us on Skype and said:
– You can continue to suffer a miserable existence, but I’m getting married soon. Then I’ll come and get my son and pick him up. And you will stay. Greedy.

She sprinkled it all with foul language, but I won’t repeat it. Let her do what she wants. It’s her destiny. It doesn’t matter. She came to pick up her son with nothing to eat. No more weddings were in the offing. Another suitor had left her. Which was to be expected. She took her son, and then on the doorstep, she said:
– Can you give me some money? I don’t even have enough money to go home. All men are jerks and poets. I don’t trust them anymore.
