Greetings everyone! I want to share an unusually dramatic story that happened to my friend Inga. It is about an unscrupulous caregiver and how an outwardly nice and polite woman can behave in a completely unpredictable way. I was shocked by this story. I wanted to teach the nurse a lesson for the way she treated the sick and helpless person.
Inga found a nurse to take care of her mother while she was at work. She had a frequently changing schedule at the factory. A demanding job and a floating schedule prevented Inga from being able to care for her mother on her own. In addition, she had two children growing up.
My friend started looking for a caregiver on the Internet through recommendations. Inga needed an experienced woman and her search was a quick success: She was attracted to the caregiver. The caregiver turned out to be a very pleasant, friendly, and polite woman. She was 52 years old, but she looked well-groomed and fresh. Looking at Nonna one would think that she was the kindest and most caring person, no one expected anger or harm from her. At first, Nonna was very caring and attentive to her grandmother. She was completely helpless, she couldn’t even eat by herself.
But one day Nonna changed drastically. She turned into a rude and cruel tyrant. The nurse allowed herself to yell and swear at the elderly sick woman. Nonna even hit the old woman on the head. The grandmother was unable to complain about her abuser: she cried and mumbled something unintelligible.
I couldn’t bear to watch this, when Inga brought me the video from the hidden camera, put in specially to see what was going on in her absence. How can you do this to a helpless person you are supposed to take care of? This is sacrilege! The nurse would spoon-feed the old woman and then hit her on the head with the same spoon in anger. If you don’t want to take care of someone, why get a job as a nurse?
Inga asked what caused this attitude toward her mother, because she paid on time and as agreed. Moreover, Nonna was treated as a member of the family. Why did she make such a mockery of a sick person? Here she was clearly affected by humanity and confessed that she had simply lost her nerve. Nonna did not try to trick, because she had been warned about the camera in the room when she was hired.
Inga, poor thing, told me about it through her tears. She blamed herself for letting the monster near her mother. Nonna took good care of her grandmother in the beginning and nothing bad was on the videos. Over time, the old woman had to be spoon-fed, and sometimes she refused to eat at all, but she needed to eat. The nurse became annoyed with the need to coax the infirm woman to eat.
It was hard to believe that such a nice-looking nurse was actually a scary and cruel person! Inga chased her away and decided to sue her so that people like her would not work as a nurse.
Now Grandma is very afraid of strangers, she doesn’t want to stay in the apartment with anyone unless her daughter is there. In addition, she has serious memory problems and chronic illnesses have worsened. When I visit Inga, we talk quietly so as not to disturb her mother.
What is horrible is that the old woman herself was not able to tell her daughter how she was being mocked! The sick and helpless person had to endure the abuse. What luck that there are video cameras! Today, Inga is again looking for a nurse, but now more carefully in the selection of candidates. And the old lady gets terribly nervous when she sees a stranger in her apartment.
The cruelty and inhumanity of Nonna strikes. Why do such people go to the nurses? There are so many other specialties. I hope that no one else will take her to look after a sick relative!
How can you yell at a gravely ill person? These people are like children, they do not understand anything, they are helpless and it is not their fault that they need help! Inga posted a video of Nonna “nursing” her mother. A heated discussion began, and now no one wants to hire her.
Take care of your elderly parents! Carefully check with whom you leave them and don’t rely on strangers!
