It breaks my heart to realize how deceitful and jealous people can be. I have never been able to understand people who die of envy looking at others. Yes, it may seem at first glance that people are doing just fine, but inside they can be very much the opposite.
Throughout my life, I have repeatedly heard from my friends the phrase:
– Lucky people, they have money, a car, they dress well….
That’s exactly what Sarah, a friend told me about, thought.
Two years after Sara married Adam, they had a baby girl. They had the most normal family, which was no different from other such families. The husband worked and received an average salary. Adam did everything around the house and was a wonderful dad: caring, the soul of the company, responsible and kind.
He did not strive for a lot of money, for he was sure that they were well off as it was: he took his family to the seaside every year to vacation, dressed his wife and daughter, bought everything they needed for the house.
He sometimes drank with the men, but he never made a scene or caused disorder at home. However, what it was that Sara did not like was not understood either by her acquaintances or friends. His wife had grown cold to Adam. She was comfortable with him, she could go where she wanted, because she knew that the house was cooked and cleaned.
And then it turned out that she had a crush on her neighbor. She told her friends about him all the time. She tirelessly told them that he was always well-groomed, he had a fashionable haircut, and how stylishly he dressed just a sight. He has an expensive car. Sarah was constantly on the lookout for her neighbor to see him, she flirted and flirted with him. The neighbor saw it all, but didn’t show it. He just smiled at her when he met her.
Sarah was sure the neighbor liked her, too. She began to take more care of herself, to look more attractive when they met. She completely abandoned her husband, she didn’t even look at him. She clung to any excuse just to quarrel with him.
Adam saw all this and was very worried about it. One day he decided to talk frankly with his wife. Then he asked her a question upfront:
-“Sarah, can you explain to me why our relationship has changed so much? You have someone?
At the question of his spouse Sarah replied:
– You can not tell me why other men look after myself, buy expensive cars, they have money and they know how to earn, and you have nothing in this life have not achieved! Look at your neighbor, that’s how a real man should be. And you have a penny salary, and what do you look like?

The husband was silent as he did not know what he needed to do to keep the family together. He thought about it and began to run through the different options in his head to solve the situation. One day Adam, on his way back from work, saw his neighbor, he decided to approach him and talk to him. He told the neighbor that his wife advised him to look up to him. He listened and then responded:
– Oh, what a fool your wife is. Doesn’t she see how much you value your family? I have watched you many times and admired your family as you are so happy. I am completely alone as I cannot meet someone who will love me for nothing and not for my money. I dream of having a family and children, but it just doesn’t work out.
The men shook hands and parted. That same day a neighbor met Sara in the entryway and told her:
– Sarah, you do not need to do stupid things and reproach your spouse with money. He loves you very much. There is no need to compare him to me, because he is better than me. You do not know anything about my life. Yes, I have money, but I have no happiness. There is no need to chase me, take care of your family…
When Sara realized what her neighbor had told her, she immediately ran to her husband to ask for forgiveness.
