– I don’t need you! – said her husband to Amanda.
– In spite of the fact that I am now holding your son in my arms? – She replied.
– Yes, because I’m not sure about paternity.
– Yeah? You mean because of your doubts you’re ready to file for divorce?
– I said it all. If you didn’t hear me, I can say it again.
Amanda was stunned. She had lived with her husband for only a year, and here were such requests. She thought that the child would on the contrary increase their love, but after his appearance the marriage gave a crack. The woman could not understand why her husband was so cruel to her. The words that he had spoken to her before the wedding resounded in her mind:
– I am ready to carry you in my arms all my life. I love you so much. I’ll never let you go!
Their eyes at that time glowed with mutual love and complete understanding. Plans to get married, the imminent addition-they were so happy. The guys had a modest wedding, started settling in, and then something went wrong.
The husband couldn’t find a job for a long time. Material difficulties did not embarrass the woman, but she understood that the man had to support the family, not her. She pulled everything from the last effort, encouraged him, looked for vacancies for him, but he apparently did not really want to work.
All the failed attempts were visualized by total indifference. Amanda suddenly realized that her husband had no interest whatsoever in the family’s well-being. However, only in fairy tales can you build a happy family on love alone. The number of reproaches increased – the newlyweds faced a wall of incomprehension.
When Amanda was getting ready to give birth, her husband went on a downward spiral altogether. Not only did he not work, he began to drink and cause disorderly conduct.
– What is going on with you? – More than once Amanda asked, and in response she listened to the silence.
Her husband used to live among the endless lies and boorishness, even the birth of her son had not changed him in any way. Even more, life had become unbearable.
– I do not need you, and neither does your child!
After these words, it was as if Amanda had had an epiphany. At that moment, all her feelings and hopes vanished. It was as if they had been burned out, leaving bloody scars. She packed her things and left, though she didn’t fully believe it was real. Yes, she was now alone with the baby, but her heart was in place. Everyone got what they wanted.
