I learned a lot about my modest wife in my divorce

Honestly, I really blame myself for not marrying for love. You know, I was just very comfortable with Linda. She always worked hard, brought the bulk of the family budget, was an excellent hostess, delicious cooking, the house is always clean and tidy, looks like a decent woman and has never even given me a reason to be jealous. I am 31 years old, where else would I have found such a wife?

And most importantly, she never resented and did not say that she what she did not like, I lived my life, met with friends, went fishing, walking where and when I wanted, and she always met me at home with a smile and a nice warm dinner. When my son was born, she always took care of him herself, she didn’t bother me with anything. In short, after marriage my life only got better in terms of comfort and coziness. But there was something I was missing. We lived with her for 20 years, and inside there was no feeling of fullness, no happiness that I was together with this woman.

And then when I met Julia, I understood why. I had never been in love with Linda. I felt good and comfortable with her, but I never felt love for her. I didn’t have butterflies in my stomach for her, I didn’t want to kiss her, hug her, clasp her hands tightly and say words of love for hours. I didn’t want to make surprises for her, my eyes didn’t even light up when I hadn’t seen her in a long time and then our meeting happened. Love is a rush of increased adrenaline and dopamine in the blood.

I had an appreciation for Linda, nothing more. And when I met Julia, I realized that she was my love. So I decided to get a divorce. But Linda immediately gave me an ultimatum to leave her the apartment because she was pregnant. Shock – what else can I say. But I was sure that quiet Linda would never go against my will. She immediately hired the best lawyers and started threatening me. I decided to wait until after she gave birth to do a paternity test.

I was even more shocked when I found out that the baby wasn’t mine. So Linda was cheating on me. The quiet, kind, caring wife turned out to be a demon in the flesh. We divided the apartment, still divorced. But I don’t think it was my fault in any way. While I was taking advantage of her, she was taking advantage of mine. Why else would she cheat on me, too?
