When our kids got married, we decided that we parents on both sides would help with housing. My husband and I had some savings, my in-laws too. We put it together, it turned out to be just enough for a small apartment. We wanted to buy it for our children at once, they said that they were independent and would buy it themselves.
Some time later we find out that they did buy an apartment, but they bought a three-room apartment. And where did you get the money? They took a credit from the bank, to buy a two-room flat. And who would pay? They said they could afford it.
Then we find out that they also want a car. Well, the apartment is far from work and it is inconvenient to take public transport. They bought a car, also on credit, new, from the salon. Although we said it would be better to buy an old one. They were assured that they are independent and independent, they know better themselves.
Then they wanted a child and to give birth abroad. That way they could also receive citizenship. They took the credit again, so that my daughter could give birth in a single room and the conditions would be good, and the doctor would always be watching.
She gave birth. Then they wanted to make a fancy children’s room, so they took out a loan again. When I asked the question – who would pay? We ourselves, we are independent.
And here is bad luck – my son-in-law was about to be laid off at work, my daughter was on maternity leave. No money. How can we pay for all the credits? We were asked to sell our dacha. We did not want to, we had to, in order not to default. But there were. Then we had to sell our two-room apartment, and our car over time. We went to live with our matchmakers. They whine that they don’t have anything else. Of course, because they didn’t listen to us. The credits have still not been closed – it will take a few more years to close. Only sadness and tears.
