My ex-wife and I lived together for about nine years. For the last four years we were officially husband and wife. We met her when we were in college. After six months of dating, I asked her to live together. With an official proposal of marriage I was in no hurry, as my beloved was a difficult character, she entertained herself by throwing tantrums at home.
She and I legalized our relationship only after we decided that it was time to think about children. I hoped that motherhood would soften her character and she would become more tolerant and gentle. I believed that she dreamed of living her whole life by my side.
However, not all of my dreams were destined to come true. After my daughter was born, her character deteriorated even more. It did not bother her that at that time I was the only breadwinner in the family and she pulls me every day at work arguing their calls that she can not cope alone with the child or she was an urgent need.
There was a catastrophic lack of money in the family, but she insisted that I spent all my evenings with her, even though I could take part-time jobs so that my family did not need anything.
After our baby girl turned two, my wife tried to leave me for the first time. While I was at work, she packed her things and went to her parents. It cost me a lot of effort to get her back. So we lived with her for another year. After our daughter went to kindergarten my wife filed for divorce.
It took me a year to get back on track with her. Everyone in my family got married once and for life. At first I did not want to communicate with women, but then nature took its course. I started slowly asking girls out again.
The first time I was just fine, as I was dating girls on the weekends. But after my ex-wife found out that I was in an active search for a future life partner, she started sending me a daughter for the whole weekend. The ex knows full well that I don’t have time in the middle of the week to go out with women, so I’m sure she’s doing this on purpose. Just recently I used to stop by to see my daughter after work, and now she has set me a condition – either I take my daughter all weekend or she will not allow me to see her at all.
For me it is absolutely unclear why my ex is preventing me from finding a woman because she was the initiator of our divorce. Maybe she decided to make up? But my feelings for her have completely cooled down and even though we have a daughter in common, I would prefer to find another woman to live with…
