We moved to a new neighborhood a few years ago. After all, before that my son attended the neighborhood school. Only it became inconvenient and we thought it was more appropriate to go to the nearest one. And the classes were already senior. Everyone was shuffled into classes. It was necessary to change the staff.
We found a school a mile and a half away from home and while I was working remotely I could afford to pick up my child from school and take him to school. At the same time and will get up earlier. Stimulus after all. Be able to do everything in my spare time. And this school is very modern, there’s always something going on interactively. And teachers are nice, I met them at meetings. Most of all we became friends with Samantha, who taught us Russian. She at the same time was also my child’s class teacher.
As it turned out she was from the neighbor’s house. When my son moved to another school, we occasionally bumped into each other in the park, the square, or the stores. And then one day I was coming out of the entrance, and she was coming right at me. It was morning, so I knew she was going to school. I had no choice but to offer her a ride to work.
Samantha, have a seat – Robert will be out soon, and we’ll drive to school together.
In short, she agreed. It wasn’t difficult for me either. We took a ride, she said thank you and went out. Robert was embarrassed by the fact that he was driving the teacher to work. Is it wrong to have connections among teachers.
A couple of times it happened so coincidentally that we dropped her off. It was only later that I noticed that this was some kind of implausible pattern.
Two or three more times it coincided that we dropped her off. In April I get a text message at ten to eight:
Good afternoon. Are you on your way to school?
It was a text from a teacher. I said we were going. I look out – she is already stomping by the car. My son wasn’t ready for this turn of events. To be honest, even I was embarrassed. We left the house and went to the parking lot.
I’m so glad I could drive up with you today. I took three whole packs of notebooks, they are very heavy, it is difficult to carry in hands.
Well, what can I do? I couldn’t refuse. I realized that this could not go on. I had to make a decision. After all, the teacher was cheeky. I decided to cast another fishing rod:
Samantha, why don’t we just meet at the same time and no one will wait for anyone. And we’ll give you a lift.
I hoped that she would refuse out of politeness. The situation is awkward.
Oh, how wonderful! So that means I get twenty more minutes of sleep every day! Deal. Every day at 8:00, I’ll be by your place!
What a deal…My son looked at me angrily and I knew he wasn’t happy. So now I think how to fix the situation. Sooner would be back to work in the office. Because I have no other good reason to refuse the teacher…
