The adopted daughter didn’t invite us to her wedding. Snake in the hole.

My father was previously married to another woman and from that marriage he has a daughter, Samantha. My mother, taught her everything she knew how to do: cook delicious dinners, working the needle and the crochet. In her nineteen years, she became the mother of a child. The child’s father abandoned her.

Her mother helped her as best she could, pouring her heart and soul into her adopted grandson. She went for walks with him all the time, bought him clothes and and delicious food.

Samantha didn’t get a job until after her baby went to kindergarten. Her mother even gave her a registration in our apartment, so that everything would be like a human being. Anyway, as you can see, my mother poured her heart into my sister. Samantha.

And so after she got a job at the local office, she also got a relationship with a man who worked there. The baby was five years old at the time. They rented themselves an apartment, and a year later they decided to legalize their union.

My mother bought a beautiful dress for Samantha. She organized a cafe, invited musicians. And she and my father made a gift of two hundred thousand.

So before the wedding my sister called my father with a purpose. Notify him that he alone is invited to the celebration, without my mother and me. I, of course. Of course I didn’t give a damn about the wedding, and my sister, who, I must confess, I didn’t like very much.

But how was my mother, who with love and trepidation has invested in it so much of his strength. What can I say, she loved her as if she were her own daughter. I was jealous of that, by the way, more than once, when I thought I was loved less for Samantha.

My father was also terribly unhappy, and so instead of 200 thousand, took only 20, which he presented to the newlyweds at the registry office. He wished his daughter good luck, bowed out, and then went back home.

That’s how you cuddle a snake, and then it will bite you anyway.
