We live together with my mother. My mom is 86 years old.

It just so happens that I couldn’t get married, and I don’t have children either. That’s how my life strangely turned out. I am now 57 years old. Just recently I had a birthday party. We celebrated it just the two of us with my mother. I have no one to invite: I have no girlfriends and my mother and I have no other relatives.

We live together with my mother and we always support each other. My mother is 86 years old. I don’t know what I will do when she is gone. My mom is doing great, though! Even though she is so old and her health is deteriorating every year, she is not giving up. And she even goes out for a walk on her own.

I have already retired, but I still continue to work, because our pensions are not enough for me and my mother to live a normal life. But I’m not discouraged and I’m glad that I have my dear and beloved mommy. After all, other people live much worse. Some have no housing, no relatives at all, and no money.

But my mom and I live a quiet and peaceful life. In the evenings we drink tea, knit, and watch our favorite movies and shows. And on weekends I bake pies, and we invite our neighbors to visit us. They tell us news about their relatives. That way my mother and I get new experiences. I am happy for the people who are doing well, and I pray that my mother and I will be spared all troubles.

This is how we live: quietly, peacefully and calmly. I want this life to continue with my mother and me for as long as possible…
