I met Alan one year ago. He confessed his loyalty and faithfulness to me, saying that his feelings for me are sincere. And indeed we were very similar to each other. Both of us have a bad marriage. Both needed support and sympathy. And we thought that each of us found it. But as it turned out, he was just a parasite trying to take advantage of me. In every way.
My acquaintances warned me not to rush in and invite my roommate over. But I didn’t want to listen to anyone. I wasn’t even surprised that at thirty, he didn’t have a steady job. He was also basically homeless. And he couldn’t drive a car. But all I had on my mind was romance. I wasn’t thinking straight. I thought emotionally, like a teenager.
But when he didn’t come home one night, and I couldn’t find all my money on my card the next morning, I didn’t just think about it, I woke up. That’s the story.
I even tried to get him a job. He ate at my expense. I also bought clothes for him. We visited different places, restaurants, malls that he had never been to before, he was behaving decently. He was polite to my relatives and acquaintances, he did not argue with anyone. I sincerely believed that he would change, that he would come to his senses. But I was wrong. My patience snapped. And I had to kick him out. He did not lose heart and was going to take with him the phone, which I gave him. But I resembled him and said that he can take with it only what I took it.
Was I offended? Of course! Did I feel sorry for the whole year of my life that I had wasted on him? Definitely! After all, my mistake cost me too much. In the truest sense of the word. This parasite took advantage of me. But from now on, I will be smarter.
Try not to fall for it, as I did. Be careful and cautious. Check the sincerity of your partners. Otherwise, take the antidote. Don’t hesitate. Respond to them with reciprocity.
