When I was on a date with my employee, it was just awful, because this man was someone who is afraid to spend an extra penny and therefore saves on everything. His greed just struck me that night, because I had hoped that he could at least buy me a coffee.
I finally got rid of him after I was asked to go on a business trip. I thought that was the best way to get rid of my employee. We had to drive with our boss for two days to another city, there was going to be a trade show in that city and we just had to attend. After this business trip I was supposed to get a promotion at work, so it was a sin to refuse. For all of my stay in another city, for me the company could still pay in full, in short, the pluses were a billion.
At the last minute I was told by my boss that we would be flying in an airplane, so I was just over the moon because I had never been in an airplane before. Already before boarding the plane I became very nervous, because I did not really like the inspections. Later they started to suspect me of something, so they thoroughly checked my small bag, but it was just nail polish, and they thought I wanted to bring some kind of weapon on board.
After all these long checks of almost two hours, I was finally able to get on the plane, and there was also my boss’s seat next to me, I was glad I was not sitting alone on this plane. The boss was just sitting there with an indifferent face, it was probably not the first time he had to go through all these checks at the airport, so he is used to it.
Since it was my first time there, I could understand why I was so nervous about this flight to another city. When we got through all the security checks, I even fell asleep on the plane. As soon as we got in the air, I had a great view out the window. My boss was looking at me with a smile on his face, at that moment I was very confused and even frightened by that look.
Later our route was changed and the exhibition moved to another country, so our flight took about five hours. The time there was very different from ours. I learned a lot about my boss. It turns out that he didn’t walk around in his suit strictly in black all the time. Every day he walked most of the day in a suit, and he had recently turned thirty-two, and I had even forgotten to wish him a happy birthday.
His character was also very different. In fact, when he was at the office he was pretty stern and mean, but when he and I were in the room together he behaved very well toward me and often smiled. When we first got off the plane, I thought he would behave very differently.
-We can order us a cab to our hotel, right?
– We’re not in the office at the moment, so you don’t have to be so formal.
– Ah, well, it’s a deal then,” I say in a frightened voice. Later it seemed to me something embarrassing.
It was clear to Alex that I did not feel very comfortable at the moment, but he quickly found a solution to this problem. So he and I played a few games of tic-tac-toe to distract us from the tense situation. We spent about five hours on that and didn’t even notice how late it was.
A little later we stopped at a cafe to get something to eat, because we had eaten almost nothing during the flight. This cafe was right next to our hotel. He told me a lot about this city abroad. as if he had lived there since birth and could even be a tour guide.
Later, after we chatted with Alex, he suggested that I go to a bar with him for a drink. I, of course, agreed. After all, why refuse when we are talking so well and having a great time? After we had drinks, Alex told me:
I like watching you while working in our office, you are a very interesting person in my opinion, we even managed to find common ground and talk about everything in the world, we are having a very good time together.
At that moment I was very embarrassed and my heart started beating very fast. Then I went to my room and on the way I thought a lot about his words, everything looked like we were on a date and it was very romantic on his part. I really like people like that, and I think I fell in love with my boss.
