The cat has since been named Pumpkin and has become a beloved part of the family.
The veterinarian said that the cat had a tumor on his leg and needed to be put down. The couple reluctantly agreed, but asked if they could have one last moment with the cat.
They went outside, where the cat was meowing loudly in anticipation. As soon as he saw them, he began rubbing up against their legs and purring loudly. It was clear that he wasn’t ready to say goodbye yet.
Fortunately, the feline was treated with antibiotics and made a full recovery.
The cat was also malnourished and had a severe case of fleas.
The veterinarian also instructed the woman on how to bathe and clean her pet in order to remove the pests.
The couple noticed their cat was not using her back left leg and wasn’t able to jump up on things like she used to. A veterinary examination revealed that the kitty had sustained a complete spinal cord injury and would never walk again.
The cat’s leg improved over time and he was eventually able to put weight on it again.
