Kefir is a Maine Coon and he’s currently the world’s biggest domestic cat. He was born in December of 2017 and at six months old, he already weighs over 26 pounds! Kefir towers over most other cats and even dogs, and his owners often get mistaken for him being a dog himself. But regardless of his size, Kefir is just your average lazy housecat who loves to cuddle up on the couch with his family.

This is Kefir. He’s a Maine Coon, and he’s huge! At just 15 months old, this big guy already weighs 28 lbs – nearly the size of an adult cat!
“Kefir is a very calm dog,” Minina told The Dodo. “I think he’s so big because he eats a lot and doesn’t get much exercise.”

“She has been a great comfort to me since the death of my husband three years ago,” one woman explained about her therapy cat. “I swear she knew he had passed away and came into my room that night and lay down on his pillow beside me. I can’t imagine not having her in my life now.”
Rufous Kefir is a beautiful housecat who just happens to weigh over 30 pounds. And while some people may mistake her for a dog at first, this big kitty is all feline!

Living with such an enormous kitten is truly adorable for Yuliya, yet sharing her bed with him became a little inconvenient over the last month! “I post a lot of photos and videos of Kefir on my social media pages because I love him so much and people seem to enjoy seeing them,” Yuliya says. “Kefir is such a special cat and I’m so lucky to have him in my life.”
