What would you do if you woke up to find your teddy bear was missing? For one family in Cheltenham, England, this was a reality when their 4-year old daughter’s treasured toy vanished overnight. In an attempt to find the beloved brown and white teddy named Mr Brown, the girl’s parents put up posters all around town with his photo on it and offered a £10 (about $15) reward for anyone who found him. Amazingly, somebody actually found Mr Brown—18 miles away from home! How he got there is still a mystery but at least the little girl was thrilled her furry friend had been returned.
Inky is believed to have escaped from his tank by sliding down a 200-liter (53-gallon) water pipe leading to the ocean and then made his way out to the open sea.
Inky, an octopus who had been living in a New Zealand aquarium since 2014, made his escape earlier this week by squeezing through a small hole in the tank and slithering down a drainage pipe to freedom. Staff at the aquarium initially assumed that Inky had simply died and decomposed inside the tank, but after realizing he was missing they set up an impossible-to-escape pen around his former habitat just in case. It turns out their efforts were unnecessary; on Wednesday Inky popped up outside of the aquarium’s front gates, presumably having hitchhiked his way back to the ocean.

In October of 2013, a cephalopod by the name of Inkie made headlines across the internet after footage surfaced of him escaping from captivity by squeezing through a tiny hole in the boat he was being held in. Following his daring escape, Inkie took refuge in a nearby marina where he was eventually recaptured and returned to his tank.
