I went to visit my son’s wife yesterday. We have a tradition that every Friday or Saturday I visit the family of my son. Sometimes they call me and ask me to sit with the grandson, sometimes to drink tea and talk about everyday things.
Always it is different.
When my daughter-in-law arranged her affairs and went somewhere, I looked around the apartment. I came into the bathroom to wash my hands and saw that the bathtub isn’t very clean.
I thought that maybe the daughter-in-law didn’t have time. That’s why the bathtub was dirty. So I decided to clean it up. I took some detergent and a sponge, and half an hour later the bathtub was shining. White and clean.
I thought my daughter-in-law would come in and say thank you! But when she came back, she saw the bathroom and started getting mad.
Mad because I had cleaned it without asking her first if it was okay. She asked me why I hadn’t asked for permission first before cleaning up the bathroom myself, like she should’ve done, instead of leaving everything dirty like that.. It made me feel really weird, so quietly packed my things away and went home…
I don’t know what I did wrong. I wanted to do well, and I didn’t have any bad intentions. Can you tell me, or write a comment below, if you’ve ever had a situation like this in your life?
How do you get along with your step-children, or how do your teasers behave if you are the stepparent? But still, I don’t know what went wrong. Although, maybe I should just give up. It’s not the saddest thing in the world. There are worse things
